Blessed UK

Mariella an Italian friend of mine concluded a conversation with the quote of an Italian journalist: ’we have the politician we deserve’. I would like to extend we have the government we deserve. But the UK must be the lucky one.
Since June the UK reorganised its government in order to include a minister of Intellectual Property, Lord David Triesman (pour la petite histoire, the designated Lord was once a communist in the seventies). He explained in an interview that the aims were to anticipate, give impulsion and future solutions.
Not so long ago France still had a minister for the ‘ancients combatants’.

A welcome a la Quentin Blake!

At the Shuttle arrival in London the building (which is empty) is said to be disgraceful and does not give a good image of the town.
Therefore it will have to be hidden and redecorated by Quentin BLAKE (known for its illustration of Roald Dalh (I admire both of them).
If on the other side of the tunnel at the Gare du Nord the mayor would decide to do so first he would have to cover a lot of building as this side of Paris is certainly not the nicest and second the choice of the commissioned artist would be difficult (Sempe, .
I like all the faces of Paris even the old ones because Paris as photographers like Doisneau or Willis Ronys sometimes remembers us: some decades ago Paris was for the labours (‘les ouvriers’) too.
